This position works closely with management on a day-to-day basis, performing a broad range of advanced administrative and secretarial duties requiring considerable knowledge and understanding of the departmental function. Under general direction, is required to make administrative decisions and take action to successfully coordinate departmental activities.


The essential responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Manages various processes for department in accordance with established policy and procedures.
  • Performs a broad range of administrative and advanced secretarial duties exercising judgment and discretion.
  • May, within agreed upon limitations, make administrative decisions and take action on behalf of managers.
  • May maintains appointment and meeting calendars, perform scheduling functions, make airline and hotel reservation, maintaining an organized and reasonable schedule, and keep managers informed of commitments.
  • May compile regular and special reports, obtaining and selecting data from various sources as required.
  • These reports may require a very detail-oriented focus and may demand analytical skills.
  • May compose own letters as well as general correspondence from marginal notes or verbal instructions.
  • May provide preliminary or even advanced research on problems or activities as assigned by managers.
  • Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Work productively and harmoniously with others on a consistent basis.
  • Respond positively to direction and feedback on performance.
  • Consistently maintain professional and appropriate demeanor.
  • Performs other duties/projects as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education, Skills, and Requirements

  • High School Diploma Or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of training/experience preferred
  • 5+ Years advanced secretarial or administrative assistant experience required with additional experience in the various applicable discipline preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office required - possessing expert Word, Excel, and graphics software skills
  • Excellent spelling, punctuation and grammar skills required
  • Work experience demonstrating ability to proficiently produce accurate final documents
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Completion of related college courses preferred
