About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Functional Solutions Architect to join our team of seven and growing. We are looking for an innovative thinker, excited to improve the insurance experience for our policyholders – while operating within the confines of our regulated environment. You will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing best-in-class member experience (MX), sales and distribution, and marketing technologies, ensuring they align seamlessly with our overall IT (Information Technology) and business strategies. You will be responsible for the technical implementation behind our policyholder mobile app and online portal, our informational broker website, and additional cross functional projects.


  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications for technology solutions
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their MX and marketing data needs
  • Assume full responsibility for managing and aligning our digital vendors with our goals and standards ensuring that PURE is leveraging the best-in-breed providers and that the proper value is received
  • Drive vendor evaluations, identifying functional and technical capabilities required, as well as manage PoCs and socialize recommendations
  • Analyze and recommend appropriate low-code/no-code platforms and application development approaches
  • Design and architect integrated solutions that leverage data analytics for improved decision-making and campaign optimization
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for designed solutions
  • Partner with development teams to ensure successful implementation and integration of solutions
  • Clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies within the MX and marketing space


  • 5+ years of experience as a Functional Architect or related IT strategy and execution role
  • Strong understanding of member experience (CX) principles and best practices
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing marketing automation tools and technologies
  • Solid grasp of data analytics concepts and the ability to translate data insights into actionable solutions
  • Programming language proficiency (e.g., JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python, SQL, Flutter)
  • Experience managing, designing, configuring, and coding multiple off-the-shelf low-code platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Appian, Mendix, Polystack, etc.) 
  • Experience in application development methodologies (e.g., Agile)
  • Familiarity with IT strategy development and implementation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor communication to different audiences

Bonus Points:

  • Worked in financial services or insurance related fields where you are used to a regulated environment but still have that creative spark
  • Experience in specific MX or marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketing Cloud, Marketo, Adobe Experience Cloud)
  • Experience with cloud-based architecture and solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure)

The base salary for this role can range from $160K - $190K, based on a full-time work schedule. An individual’s ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience.
