Job Purpose:
 

This position leads the creation of marketing plans to achieve B2B and B2C business goals across TruStage. This is a key leadership role that reports to the Chief Marketing and Brand Officer and works closely with other Marketing team members and works cross functionally with matrix leaders in business, Data & Analytics, Digital, Sales and Product.

The Marketing Strategy team will work in a multi-product, multi-team agile environment supporting B2B, B2B2C, and B2C models. The VP, Marketing Strategy will lead the strategy team to deliver sustained, profitable growth, seamless consumer experiences, crisp campaign execution, team and talent development, culture, and DE&I growth.  This role will closely partner and collaborate with cross functional marketing areas to ensure alignment and execution of marketing strategies to drive business growth and objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Marketing Strategists who are aligned with business capability leaders. The Strategists will be responsible for building the marketing strategies, key objectives, and processes to meet the B2B, B2B2C, and B2C business needs of the functional business areas.
  • Lead the Strategy team in participating with the business capability leaders to formulate overall business strategies; lead the development of Level 2 Marketing OKRs with other key stakeholders in support of the business areas.
  • Deliver marketing strategies and campaign results to meet annual revenue growth and P&L objectives for the business areas.
  • Create a shared purpose and vision for the Marketing Strategy teams.
  • Partner with enterprise marketing leaders to ensure alignment on marketing and brand governance and vision that drives growth in new / existing markets.
  • Partners effectively with external third parties, such as agencies, media partners, direct mail production houses etc., to deliver defined initiatives and goals. Able to manage and optimize these relationships to create and lead strong strategy teams.
  • Ensure organizational marketing strategy needs are met, including directing focus on new or emerging products and areas.
  • Communicate plans and results effectively across all levels, including presenting sales plans and financial results.
  • Create scaled, efficient processes to connect Marketing Strategists with other TruStage teams, including Analytics and Finance to establish and manage key performance indicators and ROI on campaigns and plans to meet profitability thresholds.
  • Work with Marketing, Analytics, Digital, IT and other cross functional leaders to build and deliver multi-year, large scale roadmaps to execute marketing campaigns to achieve B2B, B2B2C, and B2C business objectives.
  • Understand consumer, partner, and business trends, customer (B2B and B2C) segments, and consumer and partner journeys.
  • Participate as a member of the enterprise Chief Marketing and Brand Officer’s leadership team and demonstrate partnership and collaboration in operating effectively in a matrixed environment.
  • Develop people; provide timely feedback to help meet their career goals and the organization’s goals.
  • Work cooperatively with insights and competitive analysis teams to build and share industry expertise, including product, media, and sales channel trends.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business, or other related fields or trade-off in related professional experience; MBA strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience leading Marketing and Sales teams with responsibility for marketing strategies, multi-media marketing campaigns (including measurement), revenue and profitability growth, and consumer experience.
  • End-to-end knowledge of the sales funnel and proven experience across a variety of online and offline media and sales channels; knowledge of B2B, B2B2C, and B2C marketing plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to build/lead high-performing, matrixed teams; proven ability to hire, train, lead, and motivate a sizeable team.
  • Proven ability to develop scaled, efficient processes across matrixed teams.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience presenting to large groups of senior leaders, internal and external business partners, and consumers.
  • Proven success in strategic planning and developing/implementing large-scale change initiatives to improve sales growth and customer experience.
  • Demonstrated record of using consumer insights and data-driven methods to grow and manage a direct marketing business.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry.
  • Proven success in collaborating and influencing others in a rapidly changing environment; demonstrated ability to lead others through change.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve positive results and build solid business relationships at all levels in the organization through persuasion, influence, negotiation, conflict resolution, and change management strategies.
  • Cross- functional decision-making: Solicits and objectively considers input from appropriate sources; Considers implications of actions on other areas, people, and processes when deciding; strong record of data-based decision-making.
