Job Purpose:

This position plays a critical role in driving the success of our marketing and sales executions across B2B, B2B2C, and B2C business areas. This role sits at the intersection of marketing execution, strategy, data, technology, call centers, and more and is responsible for optimizing the processes and technologies to run the marketing engine of the company.

The VP, Marketing Operations, leads a team that plans and executes addressable sales and marketing campaigns, including sales call centers, consumer journey maps, audience selection, direct mail execution, and more. This role also oversees sales enablement. The team is responsible for the technology required in the marketing ecosystem. 

This is a highly process- and execution-oriented role that requires strong systems engineering, data, technology, marketing, and call center experience.

As a critical member of the Enterprise Marketing leadership team, this role along with its peers (direct reports to the CMO) will be accountable for driving strategic leadership, business performance and process optimization, cohesion, decision making, advocacy and vision for the marketing function. 

Job Responsibilities:

STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP:  Collaborate and align with Marketing Strategy Leadership on Marketing goals. Own the KPIs and metrics specific to the Marketing Operations Team.

  • Develop and lead the implementation of comprehensive marketing operations aligned with company objectives, with a strong emphasis on both B2B and B2C marketing.
  • Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to the marketing operations team to foster professional growth and development.
  • Prioritize and invest in new marketing capabilities to support the enterprise and its growth agenda. 

BUSINESS PERFORMANCE and PROCESS OPTIMIZATION: Create efficient processes, measurements, and technologies to achieve marketing and business plans.

  • Assess and refine the processes required to efficiently execute marketing campaign intake and planning, consumer journey maps, audience selection, direct mail production, sales call centers, and more across B2B, B2B2C, and B2C business areas.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for automation, integration, and technology enhancements to streamline marketing operations and drive business value in the Sales/Marketing Operations area and in support of the overall Marketing organization.
  • Establish reporting mechanisms to track the health and effectiveness of marketing functions across capabilities, businesses, and audiences.   

COHESION: Create enterprise marketing and business alignment in service of single brand

  • Lead the sales enablement function to ensure an effective bridge exists between marketing and Sales – and that both B2B and B2C Sales teams are equipped to meet goals while maintaining alignment with TruStage single brand principles and marketing campaign messages established by the marketing strategy team. 
  • Lead a special project team as need arises to advance high priority business imperatives and rapid prototyping.
  • Lead the Consumer Sales practice – including partner management, sales growth, and profitability – working with call center partners to create consistent, compliant, and excellent consumer experiences. 
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of marketing technology platforms to support campaign execution, lead generation, and analytics.

  • In partnership with the cross functional marketing leadership team, plan and execute multi-year process, technology, and data roadmaps to meet the marketing operations needs of the organization.
  • Responsible for understanding the current and future data and technology required to support the marketing goals.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or related field, or trade-off in related professional experience; MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in marketing, customer experience, strategy, management consulting, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to build and nurture strong relationships across the enterprise with marketing leaders, strategy, product, digital, analytics, partner distribution, data, finance, and other matrixed teams. 
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles, digital marketing channels, and marketing technologies.
  • Experience leading large scale, complex projects. Expertise in process optimization and cross functional collaboration.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in cultivating, coaching, and developing high potential individuals and teams in a cross-functional and matrix environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve positive results and build solid business relationships at all levels in the organization through persuasion, influence, negotiation, conflict resolution, and change management strategies.
  • Cross-functional decision-making: Solicits and objectively considers input from appropriate sources; Considers implications of actions on other areas, people, and processes when deciding; strong record of data-based decision-making.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Unica, and other core technologies related to the building and executing of marketing campaigns.
  • Experience managing sales contact center providers, including contracting, workflow, SLAs, conversion optimization, overflow management, and more is preferred.
