Primary Responsibilities:

  • The New Business Coordinator provides Key Accounts new business sales support for the Account Executives
  • Duties include coordinating and executing the new business presale process for both medical and specialty proposal requests:
    • Scrubbing proposal requests for pertinent information
    • Obtaining missing information from the brokers and consultants
    • Analyzing current benefit offering and providing benefit comparisons
    • Submitting requests in the sales database
    • Working with underwriting on plan selection
  • Act as the point of contact between brokers and underwriting
  • Responsible for scrubbing all new cases and submitting them for installation
  • Request and produce network reports, communicate with the brokers on prospects, assist with implementation of new groups and maintain the sales database for RFPs and groups submitted
  • Positions in this function identify and develop potential business opportunities and new targeted customers or groups, but do not have primary responsibility for closing sales
  • Establishes and cultivates strategic business relationships with key sales and market influencers, potential new customers, and related community institutions

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2+ years of experience in the Healthcare Insurance Industry
  • 1+ year experience in a corporate or professional office setting
  • Experience with Microsoft Word (create and modify documents), Microsoft Excel (sort, filter, enter data, use basic formulas), and Microsoft Outlook (manage email and calendar)
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to obtain Life & Health Certification - Issued by CA Department of Insurance
  • 2+ years of experience in sales support (i.e.: sales administration, coordination, and/or operations)
  • 2+ years of experience in client, member, and/or broker relations
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint (create and modify presentations)

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends. Our office is located at the 3215 Prospect Park Drive, Suite 1126, Rancho Cordova 95670.
