The XS Auto Underwriting intern will be a valuable member of the team that will
assist our Underwriters with the valuable task of fill out data in Duck Creek platform for the with Duck Creek Rating Preparation. This information will be gathered from broker submissions, application and loss runs.
Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:
Assist in submission triage process to determine completeness of the submission and assessment of the risk and sales situation – When the information first comes into the submission box. Will assist the Underwriting Assistants with looking at the information and reaching back out to brokers for additional information if necessary. From there, the intern will assist with entering the information into Duck Creek.
Assist in submission prep work including analyzing driver profile (how many drivers, how many over 70 years old and under 25 years old and driver turnover – how many drivers are new within the last year), fleet schedules (breaking apart by class – tractor trailer, etc.) and loss runs (pulling out loss data – large losses, number incurred, etc.) for entry into the Duck Creek platform.
Assist with analyzing CAB (Central Analysis Bureau) data – safety profile for operators based on DOT numbers.
Assist Underwriters in the preparation of the DC system screens, for quoting purposes.
Other projects, as assigned.
Technical Knowledge and Understanding:
Proficient in Excel and Outlook products – Filtering and pivot tables
Analytical reasoning
Strong analytical skills/aptitude
Experience:
Must be a current college student actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Insurance Risk Management, Finance, Business or a related field
Must be able to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship
The expected pay for the role is $20 per hour. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and experiences. The disclosed pay range estimate may also be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
