As a Property Treaty Reinsurance Underwriter, you’ll be the driving force behind our property reinsurance portfolio, leveraging your underwriting expertise, industry knowledge, and negotiation finesse to source and structure deals that align with profitability goals. With access to top clients, cutting-edge pricing models, and strategic development opportunities, you will shape our success while fostering long-term relationships.

Your Impact:

  • Evaluate property reinsurance treaty submissions, including terms, conditions, and coverage intent. Conduct sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of different risk factors on pricing. 
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to determine acceptability within the company's risk appetite. Negotiate treaty terms and conditions to optimize profitability and risk management.
  • Monitor the performance of the property reinsurance portfolio. Identify trends and opportunities for portfolio optimization.
  • Prepare and issue clear and concise underwriting reports and recommendations. Utilize pricing models and actuarial data to determine appropriate reinsurance rates.
  • Developing and cultivating new and existing carrier, reinsurance broker, and program intermediary relationships to maintain an opportunity pipeline in support of department premium & production goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all Capacity Partner and company policies. Maintain accurate and up-to-date underwriting documentation.

Successful Candidates Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree, or above and reinsurance certifications, or equivalent experience.   
  • 10+ years’ of reinsurance underwriting experience
  • Strong understanding of property insurance and reinsurance principles. Proven experience in property treaty underwriting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Proficiency in underwriting software and pricing models.

The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected annual pay range for this position is between $150,000 to $225,000 plus discretionary bonus. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
