Brown & Brown has an exciting opportunity available for a Benefits Specialist for our team in Minneapolis, MN!
The ideal candidate would be a motivated and detail-oriented individual capable of both interpreting data as well as interacting with clients on a time-sensitive basis. This role offers tremendous opportunity to an individual who is equipped and eager to accept the challenges of an ambitious workload and steep learning curve.
The day-to-day responsibilities of the Benefits Specialist vary greatly; but the primary function in this position is to assist the Account Team in servicing the needs of employee benefit clients.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Assist clients with daily service functions and frequent ad hoc requests, escalating issues as needed
Create, review and edit employee benefit guides, benefit manuals and other client materials as requested
Administer marketing and renewal functions such as requests for proposal
Identify, plan, and develop methods and procedures to obtain greater efficiency and effectiveness of benefit programs
Participate in market meetings, client functions, industry seminars and training programs as directed
Maintain client records and update client communications
Data entry in excel/client reporting duties as assigned.
Updates files for resource library including current developments, legislative and regulatory changes, and market updates and work with the Account Team to advise impact to clients.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Minimum of high school degree or equivalent required.
College degree preferred.
2+ years of business experience, an understanding and knowledge of employee benefits a plus.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently.
Experience using Microsoft office, specifically Excel.
Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Must obtain and maintain active Life/Accident and Health Insurance Agent License within 1 year.

24.04 - 31.25 HourlyThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
