Retail and Consumer Brands Consulting Practice

Accelerating practice goals and objectives through the design, development, and implementation of holistic retail and consumer brands solutions; our consultants focus on delivering innovative new practices within the areas of Strategy, Customer Experience, Revenue Growth Optimization, Route to Market, Direct-to-Consumer Operating Models, Operations, and Digital Innovation and Enablement.

We are currently seeking a Consulting Manager to join our Retail and Consumer Brands industry practice. In this role you will contribute to the growth of the practice in a variety of ways including:

Business Development:

  • Identify potential opportunities within assigned clients and promote NTT DATA as a leading partner

Client Relationship Management:

  • Assist with management of client interactions and expectations, address client needs, and provide value
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise, address client questions as applicable, prepare and coordinate client responses
  • Serve as a liaison between client and senior leadership team

Proposal Development:

  • Work with pursuit teams to drive sales and proposal development, facilitate differentiators (like specific consulting frameworks, intellectual property etc.), articulate value proposition, create a compelling proposition for the client to engage

Engagement Management:

  • Lead streams/teams within large complex projects and/or lead smaller teams within exclusive projects on a day-to-day basis
  • Manage individuals and teams, track, and direct performance against objectives, and encourage innovation and continuous improvement
  • Proactively provide insights and decision-making to ensure project success
  • Identify issues, risks, and project conflict in timely manner including delivering critical problem solving to resolve project issues
  • Incorporate leading practices and innovative solutions to deliver value to clients
  • Lead project governance including Project Status Meetings
  • Lead the creation and delivery of project deliverables
  • Manage ad hoc client requests and address issues
  • Build high morale and a highly effective teams and position programs for success

Thought Leadership:

  • Participate in research and development of practice service offerings
  • Identify and promote leading practices including incorporating into assigned programs and client engagements
  • Work collaboratively to develop point of views (POVs) and author multiple articles that advance the quality of our services

Recruitment & People Management:

  • Participate in identification of and screening of new team members including leveraging personal network to recruit new team members
  • Direct project team members, provide guidance to ensure high quality deliverables are successful delivered to clients
  • Perform the role of counselor and coach, provide feedback and guidance, actively participate in performance reviews, provide leadership and act as role model for team members

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 5+ years experience of management consulting within a leadership capacity
  • 5+ years experience supporting clients in the Retail and CPG industries within a management consulting environment (Big 4, boutique firm, etc,)
  • 5+ years of experience working independently and/or driving execution teams to meet client deliverables; proven ability to ensure client and overall team success through strategic thinking and a "client-first" approach
  • Ability to travel 75% (assume 3-4 days per week) as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree
  • Experience with budgetary responsibilities relating to projects
  • Data analytics experience
  • Strong oral and written communications skills, including presentation skills
