Job Description

Zurich is currently looking for a Part-Time intern in our Group Reinsurance Business organization. The position is remote working about 20 hours per week.


The intern will work under immediate supervision while performing requested tasks alongside professionals who perform these roles. Generally, our internship is part of a summer program with an assigned mentor.


These positions will:

  • Enhance the Zurich North America Value Management reporting process
  • Analyze and perform basic reinsurance accounting transactions and financial reporting
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to prepare and settle statements of account
  • Prepare journal entries


You will learn:

  • Basics to understanding an insurance P&L statement
  • Project management skills
  • Basic/intermediate SAP application
  • Business Objects queries and data analysis skills
  • International accounting standards
  • Advanced Excel skills and capabilities
  • Proper interaction with other departments
  • Learn about other functional areas within Zurich through day-to-day work
  • Knowledge of insurance operations


Basic Qualifications:

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor program and will be enrolled in the fall of 2022
  • Two or more years of college coursework (should be a rising Junior or Senior) and no prior years of experience required in the administrative area
  • Microsoft Office experience 
  • Be legally eligible to work in the U.S indefinitely   


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cumulative GPA at/above 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Knowledge of financial analysis and financial modeling
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, the insurance reinsurance markets, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
  • Problem-solving skills in customer focused environment 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Experience in a leadership role 
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
