Job Description

Zurich is seeking a Vendor Performance Manager to join the Vendor Management Team within Operations Services. This role will be a hybrid work environment and be based in our North American head-quarters in Schaumburg, IL. 


In this role you will manage the relationship between the Business Unit and vendors for multiple outsourced operations, directing activities to ensure compliance and to confirm that service levels and contractual obligations are in alignment with business needs and expectations.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Oversees execution of vendor operations and services, ensuring delivery in line with contracted Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Manages a team of Supplier Process Specialists
  • Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Participates in initiatives as a subject matter expert for aspects of vendor arrangements/processes
  • Ensures vendors business continuity plans meet or exceed company standards and perform a periodic test of the plan
  • Owns and manages internal business continuity plan and regularly tests and updates in accordance with business standards
  • Supports the resolution of contractual issues between vendors and Business Unit
  • Monitors vendor performance results over all service orders
  • Ensures vendors are in compliance with all contractual obligations
  • Works across multiple functions to manage outsourced functions in alignment with process owner expectations
  • Conducts regular status meetings with business partners and vendors to align on performance results and discuss emerging business needs
  • Builds relationships with global peers by serving along side them on various projects and initiatives
  • Manages lean initiatives locally and in conjunction with global objectives
  • Responsible for financial planning and expense management associated with vendor work model
  • Leads management in the development of service level agreements

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 9 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
  • Experience managing external business relationships
  • International travel


  • Bachelors Degree with 7 or more years experience in the vendor management or insurance area
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze data
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Project management skills
  • People management and stakeholder management experience
