Job Description

Zurich is currently looking for an Enterprise Data Specialist or Enterprise Data Specialist I to join Risk Engineering Analytics. This role will ideally work out of our North American headquarters in Schaumburg, IL. Will also consider a virtual candidate within the U.S..

 

Risk Engineering helps our customers reduce exposures that lead to losses through a variety of industry-leading services. Our risk engineers are experts in their fields and work closely with Zurich customers to develop the right solutions to reduce loss costs and keep workers and workplaces safer.

 

As a key member of the Risk Engineering Analytics team, you will be responsible with leveraging the value of the data assets throughout the Risk Engineering organization.  The data analytics team will facilitate the development/implementation of the desired end-state data environment and will be responsible for improving the organization's decision-making capabilities by providing high quality, transparent data and will work with the business leaders to establish accountability for data, link business objectives with data needs, and identify/measure/close data quality gaps. In this role, you will participate on core teams in identifying and validating data scenarios within Risk Engineering.  You will need to demonstrate the ability to develop actionable plans, recognize opportunities and be able to report out on on-going progress.

 

This role will be filled at either the Enterprise Data Analyst or Enterprise Data Specialist I. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.

 

Enterprise Data Analyst:
Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Data Management area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Data Management area
    AND
  • Experience with data interrogation/analysis techniques

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively at both the technical and business level
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Advanced SQL, SAS, Power Platform including PowerBI, Azure, R, Power Pivot, ETL skills
  • Insurance industry experience
  • Ability to work independently and interact effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to learn and comprehend new systems and business processes quickly

 

OR

 

Enterprise Data Specialist I:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Data Management area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Data Management area
    AND
  • Experienced in data interrogation, data profiling or data modeling

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and interact effectively as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Advanced SQL, SAS, Erwin, Data Quality Tools, ETL skills
  • Insurance industry experience
