The Vice President of Account Management is accountable for the overall success and contract execution of assigned Health Plan clients.  As Vice President, you will be responsible for developing deep trusted relationships with health plan executives that drive strategic collaboration and promote long-lasting, mutually beneficial partnerships. You will also hold accountability for leading and developing a high-caliber, well-engaged client management team.  Success will be measured by client/market growth and retention, strategic leadership, financial performance, employee engagement and the overall satisfaction of assigned clients.

As Vice President, you must be comfortable operating and leading in an extremely fast-paced, complex environment and able to quickly understand/interpret how market events (i.e., federal regulations, state/local regulations, CMS requirements, drug manufacturer events, etc.) impact Health Plan clients and to advise proactively and react accordingly.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain solid personal relationships with key executives and decision-makers, including those within key consultant firms
• Collaborate internally with senior executives to develop strategic and tactical plans to achieve desired annual growth targets and drive optimal service delivery
• Set, communicate, monitor and be accountable for the successful attainment of metrics-driven performance goals and objectives amongst assigned client management team members
• Manage the profit and loss statements for each assigned account and manage to an operating budget, upsell targets, and revenue growth goals
• Accountable for establishing a solid bench; recruiting and developing top talent; driving a motivated and engaged team; and developing a succession plan to accommodate for new growth
• Forge high trust, highly effective internal relationships with teams such as underwriting, legal, product development, industry relations, operations and finance to identify strategic opportunities and drive a culture of continuous improvement
• Closely monitor, engage and serve as a key point of escalation for high profile client issues
• Ensure consistently proactive and strategic approaches toward client market checks and renewals
• Provide input to product development teams to develop new or enhance existing products to meet market needs
• Be a visible representative to the broader marketplace, and as such, demonstrates visionary thinking that sustains a competitive advantage
• Demonstrate and drive service excellence at all times when dealing with internal and client constituents
• Collaborate with sales team and support areas to complete requests for proposals/information in a timely, accurate and professional manner
• Participate in sales meeting demonstrating high energy and critical thinking while communicating a unique value proposition

Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent industry experience
• 10+ years of strategic and operational health care experience, effectively navigating and driving results in a highly complex, matrix environment; 5+ years of working within a PBM and/or managed care pharmacy industry
• 5+ years of experience building and developing sophisticated Account Management teams to successfully deliver results with payer partners
• Demonstrated progressively increasing client management experience including interpreting and negotiating complex contracts, balancing internal and external views
• Experience working with senior-level C-Suite executives and ability to lead innovative and forward-thinking discussions
• Experience driving process improvements and change management using root cause problem solving skills
• Experience interpreting financial statements, identifying trends and driving strategic recommendations
• Experience developing and delivering formal presentations to effectively message, position, and influence clients, internal partners and executive leaders
• Ability to travel up to 50%

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Business, Health Care Administration, Public Health or other-related field
• Experience managing an operating expense budget
• Experience collaborating with sales teams in the RFP process
• Lean/Six Sigma experience
• Experience working with large, complex Health Plan clients

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary/hourly range for Colorado residents is $130,300 to $250,200. The salary/hourly range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $130,300 to $250,200.
