The Federal Employees Health Benefit Program (FEHBP) Associate Director of Account Management is responsible for leading the medical Account Management Team.  The FEHBP AMT is tasked with the ongoing and dedicated support of the UHC FEHBP account in partnership with our client, the Office of Personnel Management or OPM.  Key responsibilities include oversight of the daily operations of the team, tracking and managing reporting commitments, monitoring performance guarantees, triaging and/or addressing escalated/VIP issues, annual renewal planning and execution, triaging and/or addressing ad hoc OPM questions and requests and consistent status updates with senior leadership.  This leadership position serves as the primary point of contact for OPM on behalf of the AMT.

Your goal is to properly plan for team deadlines, keep the AMT running smoothly and provide the highest level of service for our Federal members and OPM contract team.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage UHC FEHB Account Management Team
• Work with team members to identify gaps and develop solutions
• Gain an understanding of every team members responsibilities, skillsets and workloads to drive efficiency and identify training opportunities
• Ensure team tasks and projects are well documented with Standard Operating Procedures for quality and team cross-training
• Serve as primary AMT leadership contact and be trusted advisor to internal matrix partners
• Manage and foster relationships with the OPM contracting office team along with AMT 
• Develop and maintain annual AMT road map to ensure all deadlines are met and the proper matrix partners are engaged and held accountable
• Work closely with team members to ensure each has a clear sense of their roles and responsibilities as well as how they fit into the greater Federal Programs team
• Cultivate a high performing team through focused strategies while keeping diversity, inclusion and culture as the north star

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of account management/client service experience
• 5+ years of leadership experience
• Experience dealing with complex medical insurance accounts
• Experience coordinating and organizing key internal matrix partners
• Ability to lead and execute implementation of business strategies
• Capable of maintaining executive level internal and external relationships
• Strong working knowledge of business planning and financial/underwriting acumen
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
• Proven ability to navigate an often ambiguous and complex organization to resolve issues
• Superior verbal, written and presentation skills
• If hired, you will need to provide your licensing certification within your first week of employment so that UHC / your manager can apply for your appointment as our agent.  If you are not yet licensed, you must pass the state requirements and provide UHC / your manager with the requisite information no later than 30 days after your first day of employment.  Failure to provide this required information within the time frames noted or loss of licensure during your employment may result in the termination of your employment

• Experience leading account management or client service team
• Experience working with large and complex medical insurance customers
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills (internal/external)
• Solid influence, collaboration and listening skills
• Ability to create a strategic vision and plan its implementation
• Strong team player

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $70,000 to $140,000. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $70,000 to $140,000. Role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
