The Commercial/Specialty Lines Product Manager is responsible for researching and developing new products and coverages in addition to managing existing product lines as they relate to SECURA’s market strategies. The product manager is responsible for creation, implementation and maintenance of assigned lines of business in order to drive profitable growth. This position is open to working out of our Neenah or Middleton office.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research, develop, and make recommendations to Underwriting, Claims, and Sales leaders regarding new/revised products and coverages
Develop requirements to implement pricing, product, and marketing strategies for specified lines
Ensure regulatory compliance of all rates, rules and coverages
Conduct market analysis on competitors and find new market opportunities
Participate in ad hoc projects as needed
Assist in providing product training to associates
Stay current with emerging issues impacting assigned lines of business as well as the overall insurance industry
Work closely with R&D Project Manager and Product Analysts on such things as insurance department filings, project charters, project plans, rate reviews, bureau circulars, and more.
Advanced knowledge of Commercial or Specialty Lines Insurance is required
Possess both analytical and problem solving skills
Strong project management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills
Able to manage and prioritize multiple ongoing projects is required
Proficient in Word and Excel
The ability to work independently and in a team environment
Self-starter, must be able to complete projects with little direct supervision
Life-long learner – frequently searches for opportunities to learn new skills, expand knowledge base, or ways to improve the status quo
Three or more years related underwriting or claims experience.
A combination of multi-line underwriting, claims, product development or staff underwriting experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
