Job Description


AmTrust Financial is looking for an experienced individual to guide PR and Content for AmTrust as AVP, PR & Content. This position is responsible for driving the AmTrust voice across relevant product lines including Workers’ Compensation, Cyber, Management Liability, Extended Warranty and other AmTrust business areas. This individual will need to work cross-functionally with executives and others in various departments across the organization to drive the AmTrust story and increase awareness and affinity for the AmTrust brand, products and people across insurance trade, financial and other relevant media. Manage a content team producing AmTrust-branded reports, thought leadership articles, blog posts and other marketing content.

AmTrust is a leading voice in insurance for small business, extended warranty and other niche product areas and its executives are regularly quoted in various media. AmTrust-branded reports have been widely covered in insurance, vertical trades and other media outlets, producing hundreds of positive media articles and winning multiple industry awards.

AmTrust Financial is a multinational property and casualty insurer specializing in coverage for small and midsized businesses. After ten years as a publicly traded company, AmTrust was taken private in late 2018 in a transaction sponsored by the company’s majority owners along with Stone Point Capital LLC. Since its privatization, AmTrust continues to focus on building value through profitable growth, optimizing capital allocation, and executing strategic acquisitions and divestitures.

AmTrust Financial is headquartered in New York City, and this position will be located in either our Jersey City, NJ or Cleveland, OH office reporting to the VP, Creative Services.


  • Develop and implement PR and content strategy working with internal teams and outside PR agencies
  • Drive positive coverage for AmTrust corporate and across AmTrust product lines
  • Develop compelling AmTrust-branded reports working with Claims, Loss Control and Underwriting to drive coverage and agent downloads/co-brand requests
  • Manage monthly coverage reports and quarterly SOV analysis working with Meltwater and PR agency
  • Serve as primary contact for PR agencies in US and UK
  • Work collaboratively across marketing team with creative services, digital marketing and project management teams
  • Drafting and distributing press releases and managing approval process internally and externally, as necessary


  • 8+ years developing and managing successful public relations campaigns
  • Experience in the financial services or insurance industry is a plus.
  • Ability to interact directly with executives, including senior management and Executive Committee members
  • Firsthand experience with SEO, digital marketing and social media
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines and last-minute changes.
  • Ability to easily shift between multiple projects as priorities dictate.
  • Experience with crisis communications a plus
