We’re actively seeking a talented a Business Analyst II to join our Financial Data & Process Optimization in Newport Beach, CA. As a Business Analyst II, you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by serving as a key liaison between Finance, Technology, and external implementation partners, providing testing strategy, and ensuring solutions meet business, control, and reporting requirements.
How you'll help move us forward:
Business analysis and quality assurance activities for A&R workstreams, including functional, integration, and end-to-end testing cycles.
Translate complex business requirements and accounting processes into effective test scenarios and execution plans.
Provide expertise in data flows to validate outcomes and identify risks or gaps.
Partner with Finance, Technology, and vendor teams to proactively identify, triage, and resolve defects and design issues.
Participate in testing governance forums, stand-ups, and working sessions to drive progress and decisions.
Ensure testing activities support audit readiness, controls, and data integrity expectations.
Lead regression testing and support production readiness and post-implementation validation.
Contribute to continuous improvement of business analysis and QA standards, templates, and best practices within the A&R workstream.
The experience you bring:
Experience performing business analysis and/or business-led testing within finance, accounting, or reporting domains.
Understanding of accounting and reporting processes, including upstream/downstream system and data dependencies.
Proven experience with test execution, defect management, and cross-functional issue resolution.
Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence both business and technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
What makes you stand out:
Experience with business analysis or QA efforts in large-scale finance transformation or ERP programs.
Exposure to Accounting & Reporting (A&R) processes in multi-system environments.
Familiarity with internal controls, audit considerations, and financial data governance.
Experience working in Agile, iterative, or hybrid delivery environments.
Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
