An entry-level Claims Customer Service position requiring a learning nature, empathy and interpersonal skills along with a strong desire to assist customers. Provides prompt investigation, processing and settlement of claims with minor exposures. Requires the explanation of the claims process to customers. Generates payments in accordance with assigned authority limit. Documents all activities and pertinent information in applicable claim system. Responsible for handling claims that require learning of basic claim skills relating to fact of loss investigations, compensability and damages such as material damage and medical bill processing. This manager supervises a staff of 8-12 Field Claim Representatives, ensuring compliance with Acuity policies and claims handling standards through participation in hiring, training, regular file reviews and claim audits. In addition, the Manager - Field Claims handles litigation defense and subrogation claims.
