Job Description

The Vice President, Investor Relations serves as the strategic leader responsible for developing and executing Allstate's investor relations strategy and capital markets communications. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role acts as the primary liaison between the company and the investment community, building credibility and confidence with shareholders, sell-side analysts, rating agencies, and other external stakeholders.

The Vice President provides strategic counsel to the CFO, CEO, and senior leadership team on investor sentiment, market perceptions, shareholder expectations, and competitive positioning. This executive is accountable for advancing Allstate's investment thesis, communicating financial performance and long-term strategy, and helping optimize shareholder value through transparent and effective engagement with the capital markets

Key Responsibilities 

Lead Investor Relations Strategy 

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive investor relations strategy aligned with Allstate's business strategy, financial objectives, and long-term value creation goals. 
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CFO and executive leadership team on capital markets trends, investor expectations, shareholder concerns, and valuation drivers. 
  • Drive the enterprise investment narrative and ensure consistent messaging across all investor communications. 
  • Influence strategic communication related to earnings performance, capital allocation, growth initiatives, risk management, and major business transformations. 

Capital Markets and Shareholder Engagement 

  • Act as Allstate's principal spokesperson to the investment community. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with institutional investors, sell-side analysts, rating agencies, and other key external stakeholders. 
  • Lead shareholder targeting and engagement strategies to enhance investor understanding and support of the company's strategy. 
  • Represent Allstate at investor conferences, roadshows, non-deal roadshows, and industry events. 

Executive and Board Advisory 

  • Provide market intelligence and investor feedback to the CFO, CEO, executive leadership team, and Board of Directors. 
  • Monitor trends in shareholder ownership, analyst coverage, peer performance, investor sentiment, and industry developments. 
  • Advise leadership on emerging issues that may impact market perception, company valuation, or shareholder confidence. 
  • Support Board and executive discussions related to capital markets, investor priorities, and shareholder engagement activities. 

Financial Communications and Disclosure 

  • Oversee the preparation and execution of quarterly earnings communications, including earnings releases, conference calls, investor presentations, and supporting materials. 
  • Lead development of materials for Investor Day and other strategic investor events. 
  • Partner closely with Finance, Treasury, Corporate Communications, Legal, and Corporate Secretary functions to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant disclosures. 
  • Ensure adherence to SEC regulations, Regulation FD, and disclosure governance requirements. 

Market Intelligence and Competitive Insights 

  • Monitor investor sentiment, analyst perspectives, industry developments, and macroeconomic trends. 
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking and valuation analyses to identify opportunities and risks. 
  • Deliver actionable insights to executive leadership regarding market expectations and competitor positioning. 
  • Maintain deep understanding of shareholder composition and evolving investor priorities. 

Leadership 

  • Build and lead a high-performing investor relations function. 
  • Develop talent and create succession plans within the investor relations organization. 
  • Foster strong cross-functional partnerships across Finance, Treasury, Corporate Strategy, Communications, and Legal. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities 

This job has supervisory responsibilities and is accountable for building, developing, and leading the investor relations team. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

Education 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Communications, or related field required. 
  • MBA, CFA, or other advanced degree preferred. 

Experience 

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in investor relations, finance, corporate strategy, treasury, equity research or sales, investment banking, or related fields. 
  • Significant experience supporting a publicly traded company. 
  • Demonstrated success interacting with institutional investors, analysts, executive leadership teams, and Boards of Directors. 
  • Experience leading enterprise-level communications in a highly regulated environment. 
  • Strong understanding of capital markets, valuation methodologies, SEC reporting requirements, and shareholder engagement practices. 

 

Leadership Profile 

  • Strategic enterprise thinker with strong business and financial acumen. 
  • Executive presence and credible communication style with investors, analysts, executives, and Board members. 
  • Ability to translate complex business and financial information into clear and compelling market narratives. 
  • Strong influencing and relationship-management skills across internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and provide strategic guidance during periods of market volatility and organizational change. 
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing teams and driving enterprise results.

Compensation
Base Compensation offered for this role is 340,000.00 - 430,000.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.

***Total compensation for this role is comprised of several factors, including the base compensation outlined above, plus incentive pay (i.e. equity, bonus, etc.) as applicable for the role. ***
