Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced TPA Oversight Specialist to oversee third-party administrators handling commercial auto, trucking, bodily injury, property damage, and PIP claims. This role serves as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and TPAs, ensuring claims are handled appropriately, regulatory requirements are met, and claim outcomes align with company expectations.

This position is ideal for a seasoned claims professional who enjoys providing oversight, guidance, and technical expertise rather than managing a traditional claim inventory from inception to closure.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee commercial auto, trucking, bodily injury, property damage, and PIP claims handled by TPAs
  • Monitor claim activity, review files, and identify potential exposure or escalation concerns
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to TPAs regarding claim handling and litigation strategy
  • Maintain daily communication with TPAs regarding claim developments and workflow expectations
  • Review coverage issues and evaluate policy language to support claim decisions
  • Partner with internal departments and TPAs to ensure accurate data exchange and reporting
  • Conduct audits of TPA programs and claim files to ensure compliance with company standards
  • Monitor demand responses, litigation activity, trial preparation, and mediation outcomes
  • Maintain workflow tasks and documentation in a timely manner
  • Present claim information and recommendations to internal stakeholders as needed

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of commercial auto claims adjusting experience
  • Strong background handling bodily injury and litigated claims
  • Experience managing complex commercial auto and trucking losses
  • Ability to review policy language and determine coverage applicability
  • Experience attending mediations, depositions, and trials
  • Knowledge of state-specific claim handling requirements, demand regulations, and response timelines
  • Strong understanding of medical and legal terminology
  • Excellent written communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s degree in business management or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Licensing Requirement: Candidates must hold an active adjuster license or be willing and able to obtain and maintain all required state licenses. The company will support the licensing process, including cost, training and compliance with ongoing continuing education requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years handling litigated claims through verdict
  • Previous experience overseeing TPAs, independent adjusters, or external claim vendors
  • Carrier-side commercial auto claims experience
  • Experience with catastrophic, high-exposure, or trucking-related losses

Why Join Us?

This role offers the opportunity to influence claims outcomes across a large and complex commercial auto program while partnering with experienced claims professionals, TPAs, legal counsel, underwriting teams, and business leaders.
