Job Description:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  

 

  • Leverage geo-spatial data and tools to analyze, interpret, develop and visualize geographic information, driving insights and supporting decision-making for projects and initiatives. 

  • Drive technical initiatives, ensuring seamless collaboration, driving performance, and consistently meeting team goals in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. 

  • Develop applications using Java and Spring Boot, designing and implementing scalable, high-performance solutions to meet business requirements and optimize functionality. 

  • Design and develop Webapps and APIs with Angular and Java, designing and building scalable, user-friendly applications from front-end to back-end. 

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of architectural standards and software development methodologies, ensuring the design, development, and maintenance of robust, scalable, and efficient software solutions. 

  • Work with various database and big data technologies like Cockroach DB, Postgres, Oracle, Big Query etc., driving efficient data management, processing, and analysis to support business needs. 

  • Work with message queue technologies like Kafka, RabbitMQ to enable efficient communication and data transfer between distributed systems ensuring efficient data streaming, real-time processing, and system scalability. 

  • Assisting the Technical Program Manager (TPM) with facilitating Agile sprints, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones, optimizing team performance, and driving continuous improvement throughout each sprint cycle. 

  • Mentoring and Providing technical guidance and architectural review to development teams, fostering skill growth and ensuring alignment with best practices. 

  • Analyze business and technical requirements, ensuring clear understanding and alignment between stakeholders for effective solution delivery. 

  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to the demands of a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities, while utilizing strong organizational and time-management skills to ensure efficient task completion. 

  • Create and modify CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Docker, KF, Kubernetes to automate and streamline development, testing, and deployment processes, ensuring faster and more reliable software delivery. 

  • Work with cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure, deploying, managing, and optimizing cloud-based solutions to enhance scalability and performance. 

  • Design and implement microservice architectures with Service Mesh, ensuring seamless service communication, scalability, and improved system resilience. 

  • Utilize Agile methodologies and the SDLC process with tools like JIRA and Confluence to manage project workflows, track progress, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 

  • Implement and manage Static Application Security Testing (SAST) and using SonarQube to ensure code quality, security, and compliance throughout the development lifecycle. 

  • Perform dynamic security scans using VeraCode to identify vulnerabilities and ensure the security of applications in real-time during development and deployment. 

  • Practice good coding standards & principles and use them in performing code reviews, pull requests using Git, GitHub and collaborate closely with QA teams to ensure high-quality, bug free software delivery. 

  • Utilize ElasticSearch and Kibana for advanced data search, analysis, and visualization, enabling efficient querying and monitoring of microservice mesh in real-time. 

  • Implement and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to efficiently integrate, transform, and load data from various microservices into data warehouses or analytics platforms.

Job Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:  

 

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or closely related field (or foreign equivalent) plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related occupation OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or closely related field (or foreign equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related occupation. 

REQUIRED SKILLS:  

 

  • Must possess expertise/knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered. 

  • Expertise/knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education. 

  • Such expertise/knowledge cannot be “quantified” by “time.” 

  • Required expertise/knowledge includes: Programming Languages: Java 17+, TypeScript; Web Application Frameworks: Spring, Spring Boot 3+, Spring Cloud, Angular 16+;  

  • Experience in at least one of the following Database Technologies: Oracle DB, Postgres, PostGIS, MySQL, Big Query;  

  • Software Architectural Concepts: Micro-Service Mesh, REST, Service Oriented Architecture, Clean Architecture, SAML, OAuth;  

  • Distributed Data Stream Processing Platforms: Kafka; Cloud Technologies: Google Cloud Platform;  

  • Experience in at least three of the following CI-CD Tools: Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Elastic, Logstash, Kibana, Splunk, Veracode, SonarQube;  

  • Experience using Artificial Intelligence tools such as GitHub Copilot. 

 

40 hours/week. $190,000 to $195,000/year. If offered employment must have legal right to work in U.S.  EOE.  Position eligible for Employee Referral Program.
