Federated Insurance is seeking a Senior Actuarial Assistant to support our Property & Casualty operations. In this role, you will enhance the actuarial methods used to measure operating results and perform analyses that support large account pricing decisions. You will collaborate with underwriting and marketing partners across the organization, analyze industry and account-specific trends, and apply advanced actuarial pricing techniques and actuarial judgment to create and present individual-risk pricing recommendations for large, complex commercial accounts, including large deductible and other alternative risk programs. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with strong analytical and communication skills who can explain technical information to different levels of the organization and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

This position will be located in our Mankato, MN office. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Four-year degree, preferable in Math or related subject
• 3+ years of actuarial experience
• Successful completion of five actuarial exams
• Strong mathematical, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Commercial lines pricing experience
• Experience with large account, loss-sensitive, or alternative risk pricing
• Experience with Power Pivot, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, R, Python, or other data analytical tools

Senior Actuarial Assistant pay range is $101,700-$137,500. Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. More information can be discussed with a member of the Recruiting team.
