Account Executive - Berwyn, PA

About the Role 

We are seeking a driven and well-connected Account Executive to help grow American Global’s Surety presence in Philadelphia, PA (Berwyn) and the surrounding market. This business development-focused role is ideal for an experienced Surety professional with strong industry relationships, construction market knowledge, and a demonstrated ability to develop new opportunities and deliver strategic solutions to clients and prospects. 

The position may be structured at the mid-level, senior, AVP, or VP level depending on the candidate’s experience. 

Key Responsibilities Include 

• Drive new business development by identifying, cultivating, and converting opportunities within the construction and Surety marketplace. 

• Build and expand relationships with contractors, developers, construction executives, centers of influence, and other prospective clients and referral sources. 

• Represent American Global at industry events, associations, conferences, and networking opportunities to strengthen market visibility and develop new relationships. 

• Understand client and prospect business needs, risk profiles, and Surety requirements and present customized solutions that clearly differentiate American Global. 

• Partner with internal teams to develop account, marketing, and placement strategies and support proposals, submissions, and RFP responses. 

• Build and maintain strong carrier and underwriter relationships while staying current on underwriting appetites and market trends. 

• Serve as a strategic partner to clients, strengthening relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting strong client retention. 

• Maintain an active sales pipeline and achieve established new business and retention goals. 

• Additional responsibilities as required. 

Skills & Experience That Lead to Success 

• Minimum of 5+ years of Surety, insurance, construction risk, or closely related industry experience. 

• Strong knowledge of the Surety marketplace, including carrier relationships, underwriting considerations, and client needs. 

• Demonstrated business development experience with the ability to build relationships, generate opportunities, and grow a book of business. 

• Established network within the construction, Surety, or broader business community strongly preferred. 

• Strong relationship building and consultative sales skills. 

• Ability to understand client needs and translate them into thoughtful, strategic solutions. 

• Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage clients, prospects, carriers, and industry partners. 

• Strategic mindset with the ability to work collaboratively across internal teams. 

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM technology. 

Additional/Preferred Qualifications 

• College degree preferred. 

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required. 

• Ability to travel as needed for client meetings, industry events, networking, and business development activities.
