The Internship Program at BCBSM is designed to enhance the skills and abilities of young professionals as well as to identify and attract future talent for our organization. Interns will gain practical hands-on work experience as well as a solid understanding of the health insurance industry. Our program is an excellent way for interns to get a good start on their careers by working on meaningful projects, learning valuable skills, and networking with employees throughout our organization, which could potentially allow interns to build a future career at BCBSM.
QUALIFICATIONS
Department Summary / Preferences:
The intern will support a variety of managed care pharmacy initiatives, including pharmacy benefit administration, utilization management, pharmacy operations, clinical drug reviews, and provider outreach/communications. Projects may include monitoring emerging therapies and FDA drug approvals, analyzing health outcomes and quality measures, developing educational materials for providers and members, supporting our community summer health fairs, and participating in multidisciplinary disease management workgroups.
Bachelor or Masters program with epidemiology, biostatistics, or health informatics academic background. Understanding of population health statistics and modeling, with machine learning experience as a bonus.
