The Claims Assistant role is responsible for providing administrative and operational assistance to the claims department, including handling documentation, coordinating communications, and maintaining accurate records to ensure timely claim processing. This position supports claims adjusters and supervisors by facilitating workflow efficiency and compliance with internal procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

​​• Assist in organizing and maintaining claim files and supporting documentation. 
• Input and update claim information into internal systems accurately. 
• Handle routine correspondence and follow-up requests related to claims status. 
• Coordinate and schedule appointments, meetings, and follow-up tasks as required by claims staff. 
• Ensure compliance with departmental guidelines and regulatory requirements. 
• Assist in preparing reports and summaries for claims activity tracking. 
• Provide general administrative and clerical support to the claims team.​ 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

​​• High school diploma or equivalent is required. 
• Prior administrative experience in insurance, claims, or a related field is preferred. 
• Experience with document management and data entry systems is desirable.​ 

CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES / REGISTRATIONS 

​​• No specific certifications, licenses, or registrations are required.​ 

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS 

​​• Attention to detail in data entry and documentation management. 
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. 
• Strong organizational and time management skills. 
• Proficiency in basic computer applications including MS Office Suite. 
• Effective communication skills for internal and external interactions.​ 


The annual base salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000.
