Accounting Intern - Summer 2027

Position Summary:

MarshBerry is currently seeking an Accounting Intern for Summer 2027, based in our corporate office in Beachwood, OH. The primary responsibility of the Accounting Intern will be to support the Accounting Department with various administrative duties and special projects. The position is a full-time (40 hours/week), temporary position for the summer.  

Responsibilities:

• Perform bank reconciliations daily on all cash accounts. Ensure no transactions are missing.
• Assist with accounts receivable collections by calling/ emailing customers with overdue invoices.
• Monitor the accounting email and assign tasks to the correct individual.
• Assist with entering and processing accounts payable invoices.
• Review, reconcile, and process employee travel expenses to ensure accurate client billing and compliance with company policies.
• Process commission statements from carriers and vendors, verifying calculations and resolving discrepancies prior to payment and reporting.
• Record, verify, and apply customer remittances to open receivables, researching and resolving unapplied cash and payment variances.
• Collaborate with team members on special projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Selection Criteria

Education & Experience:

• Candidates pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, Finance or Accounting preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other software programs. Experience with NetSuite is a plus.

Other:

• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
