Our internship program is a ten-week learning opportunity to complete projects you’re proud of, network with insurance industry professionals, and develop the necessary professional skills to succeed in your future career. 

As a DevOps Intern, you will have the opportunity to increase your technical knowledge and numerous opportunities to interact with all parts of the organization, including presenting to senior management.

Responsibilities: 

• Collaborate with intern group to solve business problem and present solutions to executive leadership.  
• Gain exposure to UFG’s leadership team through various networking events, including participation in the Build Your Network Program. 
• Participate in a variety of development and social activities with interns from other business units.
• Assist DevOps teams with project work and documentation.  
• Develop understanding of the basic functions in a property and casualty insurance company. 
• Learn and apply corporate standards, methodologies, compliance and testing practices. 
• Actively participate in a cross-functional team and contribute to meetings. 

Qualifications: 

• Current student pursuing a degree in computer science, programming, or related field and has knowledge of at least three areas:
  • Scripting languages (PowerShell/Python/etc.…)
  • Windows and Linux (RedHat/CentOS/etc.…) Operating Systems
  • Process Automation Best Practices
  • Information Security Best Practices
  • Database Technologies
• Microsoft Application Administration
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Motivated self-starter
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical skills
• Creative and resourceful
• Possess ability to communicate clearly with project team.
