BRIEF DESCRIPTION
As part of our Consulting Client Service Team, the Senior Benefit Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring a high degree of client satisfaction and retention, working collaboratively with a cross-functional team that includes Producers, Strategic Account Executives, and Financial Consultants. The primary responsibility of this role is to take proactive ownership of the daily client support for all services and products provided, ensuring alignment with the strategic vision of our partnership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:
- Create and update client activity log
- Coordinate plan audits, review of plan documents including insurance contracts, amendments, Summary Plan Descriptions and other documents, to ensure compliance and appropriate documentation;
- Review and complete renewal checklists for assigned clients;
- Complete the MMA compliance checklist with support from the Compliance Department and proactively review with the client
- Coordinate and support needs generated by the Compliance Department such as, but not limited to, review form 5500 data requests;
- With minimal input from others, interpret plan documents to answer client questions;
- Proactively manage all Open Enrollment activities including drafting communications including the OE benefit guide, highlight sheet, and poster/postcard using templated documents. When applicable, coordinate with Communications Consultant to determine plans and draft materials.
- Organize and conduct virtual or onsite Open Enrollment meetings for employees;
- Set up and maintain client contacts/mailing lists in BenefitPoint management system;
- Create and maintain online folders/files for all clients
- Coordinate special projects, including, dependent eligibility audits, claim audits and benefits statements;
- Work directly with carriers to resolve disputed claim, billing, and eligibility issues for clients and their participants.
- Manage the issue resolution process, meet quality and timing objectives and effectively communicate resolution issues; willingness to bring in more senior team members with more complicated issues
- Coordinate Medicare Part D Creditable Coverage determination/testing and generate and distribute Medicate Part D participant notices to clients;
- Generate and distribute Federal Annual Notice packet to clients;
- Assist client with data needed for RxDC plan year reporting;
- Track and update stop loss reimbursements due to clients, including year-end Stop Loss reconciliation (as applicable);
- Conduct benchmarking analysis for assigned clients;
- Analyze impact of new federal and state regulations on clients’ benefits plans and provide guidance to clients;
- Make decisions concerning open enrollment timing, procedures and draft open enrollment timeline;
- Coordinate and conduct open enrollment meetings including drafting open enrollment presentation and narrated PowerPoint (if applicable);
- Travel and participate in onsite meetings at the client/prospect
- Manage vendor relations and activities during plan changes and for ongoing service;
- Manage and prioritize work requests;
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 4-6 years client service experience in benefits brokerage and insurance, benefits consulting or benefits administration
- Life and Health License preferred; If not licensed, required to obtain Life and Health License within first 90 days of employment.

- Must be proficient with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Teams);
- Proficient with Canva
- Ability to travel to client meetings at various local and regional locations.

WORK LOCATION
- Work is typically performed in a hybrid manner at MMA East’s Conshohocken, PA office
The applicable base salary range for this role is $75,000 to $95,000.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
