What you can expect as a Renewal Underwriter: 

  • Reviews renewal policies with Consent to Rate or high value coverage for accuracy, evaluates & determines if additional Consent to Rate is required, & and executes follow-up action as needed.
  • Assists in handling new business review and policy change requests:  evaluates underwriting considerations, processes data entry, and executes follow-up action as needed.
  • Reviews property inspections and notifications from Claims for property or liability concerns.  Recommends action and notifies agency partners as necessary.
  • Answers telephone inquiries from agency partners, mortgage companies and insureds, providing requested billing and basic coverage information, and resolving problems as needed.
  • Reviews request for reinstatement and relief in premium issues from our agency partners.
  • Makes related policy changes, as necessary.


What we are looking for as a Renewal Underwriter: 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); additionally, any undergraduate education desirable, or one to three years insurance related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Active 4-40 Customer Service Representative License (or) 2-20 Property & Casualty License preferred.
  • Prior insurance experience with agency or carrier preferred.
