Systems Engineer

What you will be doing:

• Design, deploy, and manage VMware vSphere environments (ESXi, vCenter), including VM provisioning, resource optimization, and advanced troubleshooting. 

• Configure and maintain Acronis backup solutions for physical and virtual workloads, and implement, monitor, and support Zerto replication for disaster recovery and business continuity. 

• Deploy, manage, and support VMware Horizon environments, including virtual desktop pools and end-user issue resolution. 

• Maintain and support Dell PowerEdge servers and related hardware, performing firmware updates, hardware diagnostics, lifecycle management, and datacenter rack/stack and cabling activities. 

• Apply operating system patches, security updates, and firmware upgrades while monitoring system performance and implementing proactive optimization and remediation measures.Support SOX, SOC, and internal audit requirements related to IT controls. 

• Maintain access controls, logging, and monitoring for infrastructure components. 

• Create and maintain clear technical documentation for systems and processes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and industry best practices. 

• Collaborate closely with application owners and IT teams to support business requirements and operational needs. 

• Ensure systems and solutions adhere to industry regulations, data security requirements, and organizational standards. 

• Develop and maintain documentation, reusable processes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. 

• Perform other duties as assigned. 

What you already have:

Education, Experience, and Licensing:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required; equivalent experience may be considered. 

• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure operations. 

• Experience supporting P&C insurance enterprise systems or in a regulated environment required. 

• Industry certifications (VMware VCP, Dell EMC, Zerto Certified Professional) are a plus. 

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

• Proficient in VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter, with experience in Acronis backup solutions and Zerto replication technologies. 

• Knowledge of Dell server hardware and datacenter operations, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP), and Windows Server administration including Active Directory. 

• Proficient in managing virtualized environments and implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions. 

• Knowledge of datacenter operations and hardware lifecycle management. 

• Familiarity with SOX or regulatory audits. 

• Ability to analyze complex systems and develop effective solutions to technical challenges. 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to professionally interact with employees in other departments. 

• Proficient in MSO/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
