Commercial Lines Insurance Placement Representative

Brown & Brown is Seeking a Commercial Lines Insurance Placement Representative to join our growing team in Rochester, NY.

The purpose of the Marketing Executive will be to lead strategic marketing efforts as they relate to new and renewal business. This role will also be assigned complex commercial accounts to act as a lead client representative on servicing needs.

How You Will Contribute

  • Identify, design, and implement marketing strategies for the department by incorporating new products and services, identification and selection of target markets, and tailored/unique coverages.
  • Continuously foster & maintain relationships with carriers to provide superior customer service in the way of terms, conditions & premiums for both new business and renewals as well as commission rates.
  • Partner with the sales and service team to execute on marketing strategies for new business and existing client needs.
  • Provide continuous communication to team members and leadership in relation to all marketing activity to include but not limited to providing periodic reports, market trends, and actively participating in team related meetings.
  • Establish, cultivate and manage customer relations with client and prospective decision-makers; as well as professional relationships with carrier partners and internal resources throughout the organization.
  • Identify gaps in coverage and complex coverage needs, and advise the client and prospective clients with options
  • Ensure matters are tended to in relation to the assigned book of business with support team, including but not limited to processing policies/endorsements, invoicing, issuance of certificates of insurance, claims reporting, resolution, and follow up as needed, premium breakdowns, auto ID cards, policy changes, review of policy forms, providing coverage comparisons, loss analysis and responding to coverage questions.
  • Negotiate remarketing initiatives for new and renewal business, exercising independent judgment in carrier selection, pricing strategies, and compliance with company standards
  • Collaborate with service and sales teams to identify and streamline inefficient processes to meet established timelines.
  • Partner with sales team in the prospecting of new accounts through completion of new business submission requirements, securing renewal information and updates, and attending meetings (pre-renewal, renewal and new business) as needed.
  • Ensure that systems, procedures, and insurance company regulations are adhered to.
  • Identify potential errors and omissions risk and implement procedures which will minimize or eliminate exposure.
  • Pursue a program of personal and professional development.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Licenses and Certifications: 

  • Property & Casualty Agent’s or Broker’s License.

Skills & Experience to Be Successful

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong technical knowledge of coverage in all commercial lines insurance coverage.
  • 10+ years general agency experience. (preferred)
  • College Degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Risk Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. (preferred)
  • Familiarity of agency management system and as well as other applications related to insurance sales. (preferred)

Pay Range

$100,000 - $125,000 Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
