Business Intelligence Intern

Job Description

CopperPoint has an exciting opportunity for a Business Intelligence Intern to work as part of our fully remote team. This 12-week paid program offers hands-on corporate experience, meaningful exposure to day-to-day operations, and valuable preparation for a future career at CopperPoint.

This Business Intelligence internship provides a hands-on introduction to the insurance industry, and the role data plays in driving business decisions. You will gain practical experience in data ingestion, data management, and reporting through real-world analytics and reporting projects.

 

In your role, you will support the Data & Analytics team by:

  • Creating, maintaining, and enhancing reports that help identify data quality issues and detect data defects early in the data lifecycle
  • Partnering with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs, gather requirements, and translate them into clear, actionable reports
  • Writing and refining SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data in a real-world business environment
  • Supporting the development, testing, and deployment of reports using Microsoft Report Builder, with exposure to reporting and deployment pipelines
  • Assisting with data validation to ensure accuracy, reliability, and consistency across reports and dashboards

 

As our ideal candidate, you are

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Comfortable working with SQL or other programming languages at a foundational level
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Curious, self-motivated, and able to think independently while learning quickly
  • A collaborative team player who works effectively in a cross-functional environment
  • Familiar with Microsoft Report Builder, Power BI, or other data visualization tools
  • Able to communicate insights clearly and concisely through both written and verbal communication

 

Additional Program Details:

  • Program Dates: May 26, 2026- August 14, 2026
  • Salary: $20 per hour
  • Travel Commitment: CopperPoint is thrilled to host all interns at our Phoenix, AZ office in June and August! This exciting, company-sponsored visit will focus on team building, training, and engagement activities, and conclude with a celebration of intern achievements.
  • Work Location: Full-time Remote- Phoenix, AZ or Seattle, WA
  • Time Commitment: 30 hours per week
  • Benefits: The intern will accrue 0.0692 of Paid Time Off (PTO) per paid hour. The intern will be eligible to participate in CopperPoint’s matching 401(k) plan.
