Job Summary
The Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Associate supports Flagstar’s Financial Planning and Analysis department and works closely with Business Unit CFOs and the Production team regarding strategic direction across business units and the consolidated firm. This person plays an active role in guiding the business and is accountable for building and continually improving internally crafted driver-based forecasting, revenue, and expense models to provide deeper insight into efficiency, costs, profitability and accountability to support strategic and tactical decision making in each line of business (LOB).
Pay Range: $82,113.00 - $137,360.00

Job Responsibilities:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee monthly-close and forecast updates to ensure accuracy and transparency around variance to budget by financial statement line item.
- Partner with business leaders to help streamline firm processes that provide more transparency on the financials, including ownership of headcount projections and profitability analysis down to the product level.
- Collaborate with business and corporate finance team on forward-looking forecasts, business assumptions, and financial report production while establishing a more robust risk and control framework.
ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
- Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance training. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications:
- Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, or related.
- Minimum experience required: 6+ Years in FP&A, Banking Product Control, or Business Management / Development roles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education level preferred: Master's Degree (or Postgraduate equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, or related.
- Experience using Hyperion.
Job Competencies:
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of financial statement line items.
- Extensive experience with planning and budgeting processes.
- Dynamic team player with strong communication skills with the ability to partner with business and senior leadership.
- Skilled at thought-leadership bringing ideas, innovation and process improvement strategy with a business growth focus.
- Strong analytical capabilities and exceptional financial modeling and analysis skills.
- Outstanding communications skills, oral and written. Direct and credible.
- Ability to build partnerships to facilitate clear communication and quick decisive action.
- Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office.
- Prior experience with financial management and reporting systems (e.g. PeopleSoft, Hyperion, Workday).
- Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights. Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results.
- Builds trusted client relationships, whether internal or external, by identifying needs and delivering tailored solutions to enhance the overall client experience.
- Fosters or supports a positive work culture and productive work environment, displaying importance of effective relationships with customers and stakeholders.
