Claims Associate - Long Term Care

The Long-Term Care Claims Associate is responsible for helping our customers maintain a sense of security by independently and effectively managing an assigned caseload of claims, in a fair and ethical manner and within all requirements and service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and process claims, including complex and contestable cases.
  • Communicate effectively with policyholders, beneficiaries, agents, and internal teams.
  • Calculate and process benefit payments within authority limits.
  • Mentor and audit less experienced associates; handle escalated calls.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with departmental standards.
  • Support process improvements and demonstrate commitment to company values.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Insurance, Operations).
    • High School Diploma required, or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
  • LOMA certification recommended
  • 2–4 years of claims or insurance experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills and proficiency in Microsoft applications.

Salary Band: 3B

This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis, IN or Portland, ME. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
