Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Sr. Program Analyst in our North America Re-engineering, Optimization and Change team.

We are an internal team focused on Underwriting and Claims process re-engineering and automation portfolio for regional solutions and sometimes global solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact projects, support regional prioritization, and contribute to transformative initiatives within the organization.

What you’ll be doing:

Program Management and Strategic Oversight

  • Lead the prioritization, planning, and execution of regional technology and operations projects within the Underwriting and Claims process re-engineering portfolio.

  • Oversee portfolio and project progress, including tracking milestones, proactively identifying and mitigating risks, and resolving issues throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Act as the subject matter expert and super user for the Planview Project Platform, driving dashboard reporting, data analysis, and continuous improvement of the portfolio management framework.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive change management strategies, ensuring seamless adoption of new processes, systems, and tools across the organization.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with strategic goals, optimize workflows, and deliver measurable outcomes.

  • Prepare and present the monthly regional program portfolio reports, providing executive-level updates and fostering alignment across stakeholders.

Business Analysis and Process Optimization

  • Conduct detailed process mapping to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement within Underwriting and Claims operations.

  • Define and document detailed business requirements for process automation, system enhancements, and other optimization initiatives.

  • Lead the preparation of business cases, including cost-benefit analysis, to support informed decision-making and strategic investment in new solutions.

  • Oversee systems testing and implementation, ensuring solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.

Executive Communication and Advanced Reporting

  • Leverage advanced data analysis and visualization techniques, using tools such as Microsoft Excel and other analytics platforms, to generate actionable insights and reports.

  • Develop and deliver polished, executive-level presentations to communicate key project updates, strategic recommendations, and operational results to senior leadership and stakeholders.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Strategy, Finance, or related field required; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience, including roles in consulting, strategy, or operational optimization.

  • Exceptional analytical capabilities with the ability to synthesize complex data and provide actionable insights.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation, modeling, and visualization.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in high-pressure environments.

  • Proven ability to create and deliver impactful presentations tailored to diverse audiences, including senior executives.

  • Demonstrated expertise in project management tools and techniques, such as Planview, Agile methodologies, or Six Sigma principles.

  • Familiarity with process mapping software and methodologies (e.g., Visio, Lucid chart).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to influence stakeholders across various functions.

  • Knowledge of insurance processes, particularly within underwriting and claims, is a strong advantage.

Salary Range: $100,000 – $150,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
