Claims Assistant
$17.06 minimum starting pay
Job Level: Individual Contributor
Shelter maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Please remember that this is the minimum starting base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position.
What You Will Be Doing:
Perform duties associated with draft processing and problem solving, recovery balancing, resolving issues related to claims processing and performing special projects as assigned by Supervisor. Coordinate all facets of claims draft processing and duties associated with claims recovery functions.
Due to the duties and responsibilities of this position, a Credit Bureau may be ordered on final candidates.
What We're Looking For:
Superior administrative office skills: including oral and written communications skills, and proper telephone etiquette.
Above average interpersonal and investigative skills.
Must have excellent mathematical skills to perform balancing procedures.
Ability to accept supervision but also serve as a leader when needed.
Ability to communicate with irate customers and resolve issues effectively.
Twelve months on-the-job training necessary to learn all aspects of the position, as well as Claims Department functions, processes and guidelines.
Ability to perform essential functions of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
