  • Scope of work: Incident Management, Defect Management, Security Vulnerability Management and Run Build work in the form of application component upgrades.

  • Faces off with the Institutional Life Insurance business within Nationwide Financial.
     

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in Operating Systems: Command Linux and Windows environments with ease.

  • Programming Expertise: Develop and maintain systems using .Net, SQL Server, Stored Procedures as well as Angular, Java, Kubernetes, Harness etc. Full understanding of Pipeline and environment support required.

  • Database Management:  SQL Server and Oracle to maintain robust database systems.
     

Desirable Skills:

  • Advanced Programming: Enhance our systems with Python and UAC scripting capabilities.

  • Cloud Services: Contribute to our cloud initiatives with your AWS expertise.

  • Automation Skills: Streamline processes by building and maintaining efficient pipelines. Utilize AI to streamline software development processes etc.

As a Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on providing high quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built applications. In this capacity, you’ll analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.

This Software Engineer position is in support of one of Nationwide Financials most important, fastest growing business areas. Institutional Life Insurance (ILI), This group provides Institutional Life Insurance products COLI (Corporate Owned Life Insurance) and BOLI (Bank Owned Life Insurance), primarily distributed through institutional brokers within the finance industry.
The role assignment is on our Platform Product team.

Job Description

  • Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards in an agile environment.

  • Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training and innovation.

  • Delivery on Sprint commitments
     

 May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships:  Reports to Technology Manager/Director.

Typical Skills and Experiences: 

  Essential Skills:

  • Database Management:  SQL Server and Oracle to maintain robust database systems.

  • Full Understanding of AWS Cloud Application Development.

Education: Completion of undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree. 

Experience: Two or more years of analysis and technology experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Working Conditions:   Normal office environment. Some travel maybe required.

Actual compensation may be prorated based on the number of hours worked relative to a full-time schedule.

The national salary range for Sr Analyst, Quality Engineer : $76,000.00-$143,000.00

The expected starting salary range for Sr Analyst, Quality Engineer : $76,000.00 - $115,000.00
