We’re actively seeking a talented Sr Mainframe Applications Developer to join our Annuity Administration Team in Newport Beach, CA or Omaha NE.
As a Sr Mainframe Applications Developer you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by providing application software development services or technical support for new and/or existing applications. You will be part of Annuity Administration Team that will work in development and maintenance of end to end lifecycle of Annuity Products. You will fill a new role that sits on a team of 10 people in the Pacific Life Technology division. Your colleagues will include Developers, Analyst and QA professionals.
How you’ll help move us forward:
Application Developer provides application software development services or technical support for applications such as Vantage-One, wmA and DSS.
Reviews system requirements and business processes and develops program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications.
Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, implements and maintains software applications.
Analyzes requirements and maintains, tests, and integrates application components.
Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented.
The experience you bring:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in application development or technical support for mainframe applications such as Vantage-One, wmA and DSS.
Proficiency in mainframe programming languages such as COBOL, JCL, and CICS.
Strong understanding of mainframe databases like DB2 with experience with mainframe tools and utilities such as TSO, ISPF, and SDSF.
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent experience.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong communication skills to interact with business users and technical teams.
What makes you stand out:
Experience in Annuity Insurance (LOMA Certifications in FSRI or FLMI are a plus).
Experience with Agile software development.

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
