Data Engineer Intern

CopperPoint has an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineering Intern in Seattle, WA or Phoenix, AZ. This 12-week paid program offers hands-on corporate experience, meaningful exposure to day-to-day operations, and valuable preparation for a future career at CopperPoint.

This Data Engineering internship will provide hands-on experience supporting the design, development, and optimization of scalable data pipelines and analytics platforms. Interns will work with real-world Enterprise Data Warehouses and modern cloud data platforms while gaining exposure to enterprise data engineering best practices.

In your role, you will support the Information Technology team by:

• Assist in building and maintaining data ingestion and transformation pipelines
• Work with structured and semi-structured data
• Support ETL / ELT workflows using SQL and Python
• Participate in data quality checks and validation
• Document data pipelines and schemas
• Support performance tuning and optimization
• Collaborating in Agile Execution

As our ideal candidate, you are:

• A current college undergraduate pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Proficient in SQL and comfortable writing queries to analyze and transform data
• Familiar with Python, including basic scripting and working with libraries such as Pandas
• Knowledgeable about ETL concepts and data pipeline workflows
• Experienced with version control tools, particularly Git
• Equipped with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Familiar with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experienced or eager to learn modern data platforms like Databricks and Snowflake
• Knowledgeable in distributed data processing using Spark or PySpark
• Exposed to workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow
• Comfortable working with and consuming REST APIs

• Program Dates: May 26, 2026- August 14, 2026
• Salary: $20-$21.33 per hour
• Travel Commitment: CopperPoint is thrilled to host all interns at our Phoenix, AZ office in June and August! This exciting, company-sponsored visit will focus on team building, training, and engagement activities, and conclude with a celebration of intern achievements.
• Work Location: Full Time Remote- Phoenix, AZ & Seattle, WA
• Time Commitment: 30 hours per week
• Benefits: The intern will accrue 0.0692 of Paid Time Off (PTO) per paid hour. The intern will be eligible to participate in CopperPoint’s matching 401(k) plan.
