Senior Scrum Master

Job Summary

The EPMO resides within the Enterprise Business Improvement (EBI) organization. The OneAmerica EPMO is versatile, diligent and transparent in the execution of initiatives. Scrum Master Sr is responsible for leading Agile Teams on our Agile Transformation journey, as we implement the SAFe Framework. The Sr. Scrum Master reports to a Director within the EPMO. The Sr. Scrum Master is a servant leader who helps teams achieve their goal through daily coaching, mentoring, and process facilitation including addressing impediments.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:  

  • Accountable for supporting and leading multiple agile teams on our agile transformation journey as we implement the SAFe Framework
  • Build Best Practices and Standards for Scrum Masters
  • Mentoring scrum masters, developing various product proto types, and removing Agile Release Train impediments
  • Coach Product Owners and Product Managers on best practices for Feature and Epic statements and hypothesis, SAFe Framework
  • Partner alongside Release Train Engineer to build Release Calendars for PIs and run the SOS meetings
  • Gather Train and Team metrics and measure them along with agreed KPI to drive maturity and quality
  • Conduct Feature and Epic workshops for long term strategy and roadmaps for Business and IT initiatives
  • Accountable aligning to the communication strategies for the agile teams and/or agile release train
  • Accountable for implementing and monitoring KPIs that tell the story of our agile transformation
  • Support continued evolution of our agile practices by proactively researching industry trends and best practices
  • Nurture self-organizing, high performing teams through leadership and mentoring
  • implementing the communication strategies for initiatives and portfolios that empower stakeholders to make informed decisions
  • Be a champion of continuous change to instill and propagate a culture of continuous improvement throughout OneAmerica
  • Serve as an enterprise conduit that supports strategic, transformational, and tactical initiatives aligned to the EBI strategy and roadmap
  • Participate in onboarding and development of team members to ensure team and individual success
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify KPI's that drive and support Business Value
  • Actively inspire and promote associate engagement and development
  • Empower teams by contiguously defining and expanding green zones

 

Job Requirements

Required Education and/or Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)

Recommended Education and/or Certifications

  • Six Sigma (Yellow or Green Belt)

Required Work Experience

  • 7+ Years relevant experience
  • Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background

 

Salary Band: 06C

This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team building and collaboration.
