What To Expect
As part of the Insurance Services team, the Field Territory Manager is responsible for building, managing, and growing strong relationships with a defined network of independent insurance agencies within an assigned geographic territory. This role focuses on driving new business opportunities, expanding agency engagement, managing territory pipelines, and ensuring profitable, sustainable growth.
The Field Territory Manager serves as the primary point of contact for assigned agencies and works cross-functionally with underwriting, business development, and internal partners to deliver a high-quality, consultative experience. This role requires strong organization, proactive communication, and disciplined territory management. This position may have supervisory responsibilities.
This is a full-time, salaried exempt position with standard business hours of Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, with some flexibility at the manager’s discretion.
What You’ll Do
- Prospect and initiate conversations with new independent insurance agents to enhance or meet the distribution goals of the assigned geographic territory.
- Maintain consistent, meaningful engagement with assigned agencies through in-person meetings, virtual meetings, phone calls, and industry events.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the communication and presentation to agents and agencies, the evaluation and determination of client needs, the development of a plan of action to offer exceptional service to attract new business opportunities, and in the management of the territory distribution, production, and profitability.
- Responsible for meeting monthly premium and submission goals in the specified territory to achieve financial and operational goals.
- Perform weekly agency visits virtually and on-site with new and existing relationships to drive in new contracted agency partners, which ultimately leads to new submission opportunities and new bound premiums.
- Build market position by defining, locating, developing, and establishing agency relationships.
- Utilize a consultative sales approach and follow a strategic marketing plan to develop agency relationships that produce new business opportunities consistently and effectively.
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize your territory’s performance and drive profitable revenue.
- Maintain oversight of the territory pipeline to ensure timely follow-up, clear communication, and consistent activity across all stages of the submission lifecycle.
- Track and follow up on opportunities and quotes throughout the lifecycle of a submission.
- Generate reports outlining premium growth and activity results of our existing agency relationships.
- Make formal sales presentations for existing and prospective independent insurance agents.
- Learn and utilize the team’s sales strategy to effectively resolve client objections and maximize sales activity levels within each one of our selected agency partners.
- Document all activity, including contacts, calls, appointments, and opportunities within the Agency Relationship Management system.
- Formulate new business strategies and marketing ideas by working with the team to present new ideas to leadership and the marketing team.
- Identify gaps in communication, workflow, or production and work cross-functionally to resolve inefficiencies.
- Maintain accurate agency profiles, contact records, and segmentation within the CRM.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- At least 1 year of business experience, either in insurance sales or insurance services
- Workers’ compensation or insurance experience is required
- Bachelor’s in business or related field mandatory
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, G Suite, or similar software
- Comprehension of a task-based workflow system to manage prospective and current customers and accounts
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (Travel to association and trade shows, agency visits with other insurance services employees and/or individually, and business meetings potentially with agents and/or insureds)

Unless fully remote, this position operates in a professional office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. However, some filing is necessary and may require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

$85,000 - $110,000 base + variable comp
