Administrative Assistant

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To provide administrative support including preparing correspondence and reports, filing and other general office support activities.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provides administrative and clerical support to the unit, including producing correspondence, reports, and other documentation.
    • Assists with processing and maintaining claim files, including organizing, tracking, and updating documentation in accordance with established procedures.
    • Handles incoming mail, including receiving, sorting, date-stamping, and distributing correspondence and claim-related materials.
    • Prepares and packages outgoing mail, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely distribution.
    • Maintains electronic and/or paper filing systems; tracks and manages suspense files and deadlines.
    • Provides back-up telephone support, responding to routine inquiries and directing calls appropriately.
    • Performs routine clerical duties such as photocopying, scanning, emailing, faxing, and data entry.
    • Maintains adequate office supply inventory and places orders as needed.
 

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

 
    • Assists with general administrative tasks as assigned, including scheduling, tracking information, and supporting team workflows.
    • Supports organizational quality and compliance requirements by following established procedures and documentation standards.
    • Performs other duties as assigned to support operational needs.
 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education & Licensing
High school diploma or GED required.

 

Experience
One (1) year of experience in general office administrative duties or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience with an insurance company, broker or consultant preferred.
