Associate Broker

Job Description

Objective:  

TRIOS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Heffernan Group (HG). TRIOS is looking for an insurance professional to join its full-service digital wholesale team. This is a role for those looking to grow into a business development and relationship management role, while deepening technical coverage knowledge.  

The right candidate for this role has some experience in cyber brokering or underwriting.

Responsibilities Include:  

Inside Sales 

  • Sales support for Producer and/or Vertical Director  
  • Develop and grow strong relationships with agencies/producers/account managers  
  • Assist with account-level new business growth and renewal strategies, driving transactional business flow through the Marketplace platform. 
  • Be a technical resource for agency partners on form language and comparing coverage for Specialty lines of business.  

Account Servicing 

  • Autonomously handle complex accounts as well as transactional account flow.  
  • Account support for Producer and/or Vertical Director  
  • Through superior responsiveness and service, create demand for and marketing of new business to carrier partners.  
  • Serve as key contact, working with underwriting partners to meet the retail agent's client's line of business and coverage needs. 
  • Coordinate all aspects of the renewal marketing process with the client and provide program structure, review, and analysis. 
  • Manage account services, coordinate, and direct the activities. 
  • Prepare summaries to be transmitted with quotes. Quotes to be analyzed and transmitted, per company guidelines and servicing standards. 
  • Expand existing accounts by negotiating new coverages. 
  • Timely response to emails/phone calls from retail agents 

Account Administration & Support 

  • Work with Service Team staff to ensure timely processing of account administration activities and requests 
  • Prepare account proposals for presentation when needed. 
  • Thorough documentation is required on each account, with proper E&O procedures strictly followed. 
  • Other duties and special technical projects, as assigned. 
  • Ability to handle complex accounts as well as transactional flow.

Requirements: 

  • Education – High School graduate/GED required.  
  • An active P&C insurance license is required.  
  • Minimum three (3) years working experience in an Underwriting, Account Management/Assistant, or related position.  
  • Adaptable, self-starter, with experienced decision-making skills. 
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, both written and oral. 
  • Problem-solving, analytical, and marketing skills required.  
  • Must be organized and able to manage time effectively.  
  • Must be proficient with MS Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Compensation:

 

The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $85,000. The offer will depend on the geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. Working Conditions: 

  • Work environment is indoors, sitting at a desk or standing for extended periods of time. 
  • Daily use of computers, keyboard, mouse, headset, printers, and other commonly used office equipment. 
  • This position may require flexibility to work hours outside of a regular schedule. 
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
