About the role

At Country Financial, our approach to large loss claims is deliberate, principled, and grounded in doing the right thing. The Large Loss Liability Claims Manager leads a team of experienced large loss adjusters handling many of the organization’s most complex, high exposure claims. This role is entrusted with shaping strategy, developing talent, and ensuring claim outcomes that are both technically sound and aligned with COUNTRY's values. This is a leadership role for professionals who value thoughtful investigation, sound judgment over shortcuts, and fairness alongside financial stewardship.

How does this role make an impact?

- Collaborates and coordinates to establish and achieve goals for assigned areas. Monitors and measures metrics to improve results, efficiencies and adherence to claims goals, policies and procedures. Assures consistency across claims operations for assigned areas.
- Provides guidance and counsel to claims personnel with respect to the investigation, evaluation, negotiation and settlement of all liability claims.
- Supervises the development of assigned Liability Adjusters, including succession planning and administering and monitoring employee development.

What You’ll Do

  • Set and guide resolution strategy for complex, high‑exposure claims, including coverage analysis, fact investigation, liability and damage evaluation, reserving discipline, negotiation, and resolution.
  • Lead, coach, and develop senior large loss adjusters, fostering strong professional judgment while providing clear direction, oversight, and accountability.
  • Serve as a trusted technical authority and escalation point for complex coverage issues, valuation challenges, and high‑stakes resolution decisions.
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and defensibility through disciplined file reviews, reserve evaluations, and outcome‑focused audits.
  • Balance fairness and stewardship, ensuring decisions reflect both sound financial responsibility and Country Financial’s commitment to treating customers and claimants with respect.
  • Monitor legal, regulatory, and industry developments impacting large loss claims and help translate emerging risks into practical, defensible handling practices.
  • Influence continuous improvement by strengthening large loss standards, sharing best practices, and contributing to broader claims strategy initiatives.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10+ years of progressive claims experience, with significant exposure to complex or high‑severity losses
  • Prior leadership or senior oversight experience in complex claims preferred
  • Advanced technical expertise in Auto, Commercial, General Liability, Property, and/or Umbrella lines of business
  • A demonstrated ability to guide experienced professionals through ambiguity, complexity, and high‑stakes decisions

Base Pay Range:

$114,000-$156,750

The base pay range represents the typical range of potential salary offers for candidates hired. Factors used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, qualifications and experience.

Incentive Pay:

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a Short-Term Incentive plan.
