This leader will own the development and implementation of backroom workflow, technology and outsourcing in support of underwriting.
The role can be filled by individuals with experience in underwriting leadership, operations leadership or project managers looking to expand duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
• Directs and maintains the development of policies/procedures for the support of underwriting operations function. This includes overseeing the evaluation of new process, engaging with technology development resources and identifying needs for base system improvements, appending data, leveraging API capabilities and working with underwriting and operations leadership to maximize the efficiency of workflows and underwriting systems.
• Maintains alignment and support through communication, encouraging the sharing of information and continually seeking ways to improve.
• Responsible for overseeing individual development of team members to maximize the achievement of their potential as underwriters and leaders within the company.
• Will proactively participate in developing and executing strategic plans to meet organizational business goals.
• Leads development of key performance and operational efficiency metrics including those for performance of production, efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
• Leads Q/A review of underwriting and operations activities to assure compliance with company underwriting philosophy and practices; accomplishes this through a formalized quality review process that includes individual file reviews, broader skills assessments, and identification of training needs.
• Collaborates with Distribution leadership to establish efficiency and customer service focused processes.
• Maintains awareness of process and rating enhancements within the overall insurance marketplace as well as industry issues to ensure the company is providing competitive and adequate insurance coverage.
• Participates in broader organizational projects and initiatives, representing the needs of Amynta Dealer Solutions and Amcom.
