The focus is on Insurance Product and Underwriting setup and support. This includes research, analysis and documentation of business rules, underwriting, pricing, Insurance products, and other research initiatives. This role is designed for individuals who are eager to learn, curious about data, and excited to apply foundational analytical skills in a real‑world insurance environment. You will work closely with experienced analysts, business partners, and technology teams to support reporting, analysis, and insight generation for our growing Small Commercial portfolio.

What You'll Do
As a Small Commercial Business Analyst, you will:
Conduct analyst activities to support a new startup business unit including customer, product and underwriting understanding.
Research, analysis and documentation of business rules, underwriting, pricing, Insurance products, and other research initiatives.
Provides support for the Small Commercial business unit through the development of strong relationships, and Small Commercial business unit acumen by learning the roles within the Small Commercial unit and their workflows and processes.
Functions as a key point of contact for the Small Commercial business unit providing guidance and escalation of issues as appropriate to other team members, internal stakeholders, and/or IT.
With guidance, creates deliverables and develops project plans for assigned work which may include tasks, dependencies, priorities, and communications.
With guidance and supervision, utilizes best practices in business analysis to develop business deliverables.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
What It Takes
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
0-2 years of related work experience preferred.
Time management skills and demonstrated ability to manage work priorities.
Drive to achieve goals and tenacity with a willingness to learn.
Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated critical thinking, attention to detail, and oral and verbal communications skills.
Curiosity, adaptability, and eagerness to learn new tools, technologies, and insurance concepts.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, evolving environment.
Working knowledge of property and casualty insurance products, practices, and procedures is a plus.
