As an Equine Underwriting Intern, you will gain hands-on experience and exposure to equine underwriting. Provide risk analysis examination and entry level underwriting.
Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:
With the guidance, instruction and oversight of underwriting management, provide brokers competent & timely service, maintain accurate policy files and data management.
Assess & rate equine risks, utilizing accurate pricing and established underwriting guidelines.
Participate and contribute to special projects.
Administrative support to the underwriting team as needed.
Technical Knowledge and Experience Required:
Computer and administrative skills – general working knowledge of MS Office.
Equine Industry knowledge.
Strong emphasis on customer service and relationship building.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Reliable team player.
Ability to effectively manage time, meet deadlines and prioritize projects.
Hands on Equine/Equine Farm experience preferred.
The expected pay range for the role is $16-20 per hour. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and experiences. The disclosed pay range estimate may also be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
