As the Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Development you will be responsible for leading strategic growth within the dealer channel by cultivating strong relationships with key dealership personnel, supporting Account Executives (AE) and Leadership in executing consistent processes and procedures, and driving profitability for both the dealership and iA American. This role serves as a critical liaison between internal teams and external dealer partners, ensuring alignment, engagement, and long-term success across the network.

As an AVP, Development you’ll be at the core of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:
Dealer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong, trust‑based relationships with dealer principals, general managers, finance leaders, and other key dealership stakeholders and
Serve as the primary point of escalation and strategic guidance for national and high‑value dealer partners.
Conduct regular dealership visits to assess performance, identify opportunities, and strengthen partnership engagement.
Process Implementation & Support
Oversee the rollout and adoption of standardized processes, procedures, and best practices in collaboration with Account Executives.
Provide coaching, training, and leadership to ensure Account Executives deliver consistent execution across all dealer partnerships.
Monitor performance metrics and operational compliance to maintain high levels of effectiveness and efficiency.
Profitability & Performance Growth
Develop strategies to increase penetration, product performance, and overall profitability for both the dealership and IA.
Identify growth opportunities, including new product offerings & cross-sell, training needs, and operational enhancements.
Use data insights and performance analytics to guide decision‑making and recommend targeted action plans, with focus on increased product sales and reducing split-shelfing of non-iA products.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Partner with internal teams including Operations, Product, Training, Marketing, and Leadership to support dealer initiatives and resolve issues.
Communicate dealer needs and market trends to internal stakeholders to influence strategy and product innovation.
Leadership & Influence
Serve as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor to Account Executives across the country.
Lead by example through high professionalism, strong communication, and a deep understanding of dealership operations.
Help shape national development strategies and contribute to organizational growth initiatives.
We’re looking for someone who:
Is known for their strategic planning and business analytics skills
Stands out for their executive presence and experience in facilitating business presentations.
Demonstrates strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills.
Is recognized for excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Has at least 5 years of finance and insurance experience in automotive. As well a minimum 2 years outside business-to-business sales with a proven track record of success.
