Job SummaryJOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Reviews quarterly and annual Statutory financial statements, and other financial reports and regulatory filings for accuracy.
Oversees the monthly intercompany accounting processes.
Understands the Company’s products, services, and the required regulatory reporting requirements and disclosures.
Investigates financial results; understands and communicates the impact to management.
Directs process improvement initiatives that enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
Participates in technical accounting research and in determining the proper reporting treatment of complex or unusual transactions.
Liaisons with internal and external auditors and regulators, and provides necessary support.
May perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Highest level understanding and working knowledge of current accounting/finance principles, practices and procedures and industry issues (U.S. GAAP and Statutory Accounting) as they relate to the organization.
Ability to foster and maintain collaborative relationships with peers, subordinates, and other members of management.
Ability to achieve results by taking a proactive long-term view of business goals and objectives.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
Excellent organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interface with departmental staff, internal and external management, customers and other business units.
Ability to exercise professional judgment and assume responsibility for decisions which have an impact on people and quality of service.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software systems such as Workday Reporting, Copilot and Tableau.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA preferred.
Typically, a minimum of ten years related work experience.
Audit experience in a large public accounting firm and/or public company reporting experience is preferred.

In certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $97,000 to $189,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
