About the role:
The Manager - IT Disaster Recovery will establish, maintain and oversee a fully functional IT Disaster Program to include the following core process components disaster recovery planning, IT risk assessment, disaster recovery exercises, and other ongoing initiatives to enhance IT recoverability capabilities. The Manager - IT Disaster Recovery will partner with other members of IT to provide standardized end to end support and will act as the primary focal point for all IT Disaster Recovery related functions. Manager - IT Disaster Recovery will have the overall responsibility of the ongoing development and maturation of Disaster Recovery processes, including aligning and ensuring compliance with enterprise processes, defining roles and responsibilities, and writing policies, procedures, and workflows related to the Disaster Recovery.
In this role you will:
- Position will be responsible for developing and maintaining a IT Disaster Recovery Program
- Consulting on the development of a Disaster Recovery Plan and runbooks for stated scope business critical applications
- Monitor the deployment and changes of applications and infrastructure for impacts to Disaster Recovery-related contingency planning
- Ensure that Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time objectives (RTO) are met in exercises
- Guide and provide work direction to IT subject matter experts as their roles pertain to Disaster Recovery
- Participate in Disaster Recovery Exercises to ensure vendors can recovery critical services provided to GMF
- Participate in the ongoing review of Disaster Recovery scope services and support to align with budget planning
- Assess technical risk and provide timely mitigation and remediation plans.
- Evaluate new technology and tools and build business cases for their use
- Participate in cross-functional reviews and identify high risk areas pertaining to Disaster Recovery scope
- Must understand the integration of people, processes and tools within the overall delivery environment, how they impact the Disaster Recovery Program, and determine best strategic and tactical approach (given organizational culture and other constraints) to continually improve those processes and services
- Assess current state, where and to what extent Disaster Recovery work is being performed, and prioritize what improvements and changes to the existing state are required
- Coordinate with Business Continuity teams to ensure business expectations are met
- Provide support for the approved Mass Notification system to the IT stakeholders
- Help maintain Knowledge Management System and Knowledge Document repository with relevant Disaster Recovery content to include: Enterprise Process Improvement, Policy and Procedure; Quality control and process compliance auditing; ITSM/ITIL Gap Analysis and CMMI-ITIL Maturity Assessments
- Assist with Availability Management, Business Continuity Management, and other collateral processes, ensuring that all ITSM process touch points and interfaces to Disaster Recovery are working effectively
